2012 Challenge

2012 2012

Another year has passed and there are no more chapters to be written in the book entitled "2011" of our lives. What we have accomplished personally and spiritually is recorded for eternity.

A clean slate lies before each of us... a brand new year to begin over again. As the calendar begins this new year, may you be "challenged" to make this most meaningful year of your life. We see events unfolding before our eyes and as Christians we know that the return of the Lord is imminent. What will you be doing at His return?

"For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night." "But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief." I Thessalonians 5:2, 4.

It does not matter if you are seven or seventy, the Lord has something for you to accomplish in the coming year. We drift through life, taking for granted the blessings and opportunities the Lod affords in our lives every day. Why not take the challenge for 2012 to take the opportunity given to you and use it for the glory of the Lord? Usually in life, very little is accomplished by accident. We have to purpose to change, to have a goal and to work toward the accomplishment of that goal.

Do you make new decisions and "resolutions" every year only to be defeated before the end of January? Realizing that we can not hope to do anything in our own strength, we must rely on the Lord for "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

I challenge you... in 2012 to make this the best year of your life. How can this be accomplished? Spend more time with the Lord, dig into His Word and draw close to Him. Pray more, take the challenge, find out how prayer changes things in your life and the lives of those you are praying for. Witness more, look around and see all the opportunities that the Lord gives each day to thell others about Him. Get involved, ask the Lord how you can serve Him and use the talents He has given you.
