Pastor Moore grew up in a small town in Michigan. Upon graduation from high school he enlisted in the United States Navy serving in the aviation branch. During his navy career he served on bases located in Florida, Virginia and foreign duty for three years in Iceland. He served for 15years and advanced to the rate of chief petty officer.
While serving in Iceland, he and his wife Bonnie, determined that their two daughters needed to receive some “religious training,” so as a family they began attending the base chapel services where they became involved in serving in various capacities.
Upon being transferred to Jacksonville, Fl., they began attending an Independent Baptist church which shortly lead to the salvation of the entire family. Soon after his conversion the Lord began working on his heart about full time service and after much counsel and prayer he answered that call and accepted his discharge from the Navy and entered into Trinity Baptist College. While attending Bible School he served as youth pastor at local church. The Lord blessed his ministry allowing the youth group to grow from 9 to a high day of 150.
In 1987 he accepted a call to pastor Calvary Baptist Church in Mannington, WV where he served for nine years. During his pastorate the church grew and ministries were introduced and missions became an important aspect of the church. In 1996 Harvest extended the call to have him become their pastor and once again, after much prayer, he answered the call.
Pastor Moore and his wife, Bonnie, have two daughters and are both graduates from Bible College. Their oldest daughter Traci, is married with three children and is a Christian School teacher in South Carolina. Their youngest daughter, Amy, is married and has three children and is a pastor’s wife in Tampa, FL (www.sbctampa.org). One of Pastor Moore’s greatest joy is watching his six grandchildren growing up.
Pastor Moore has earned Thd., BRE, MRE and an honorary DD. He is excited about what the Lord has allowed him to see accomplished and is looking forward with greater hopes for the future. Under his leadership the churches Mission’s program has increased and include mission trips to areas where our missionaries serve. God has blessed our outreach programs as well as our desire to be used by God to reach a lost world.
